What We're Working On
Pump Avenue is actively engaged in research, health education, and global initiatives to expand access to insulin pump therapy.
The Insulin Pump Surplus Project investigates the scale and distribution of unutilized insulin pumps across the United States. By identifying where surplus devices exist, we aim to build more efficient pipelines for redistribution to patients who need them most.
This research examines sociodemographic differences between patients who have access to insulin pump therapy and those who face barriers to access. Findings will help guide Pump Avenue's outreach and identify communities most in need of targeted support.
We are developing a curated set of educational resources for patients and healthcare professionals who are new to insulin pump therapy. These resources will help demystify pump technology, support informed decision-making, and improve outcomes for patients transitioning to pump-based care.
Global Initiatives
Pump Avenue partners with hospitals and health systems in under-resourced regions to establish sustainable insulin pump programs from the ground up. We provide insulin pumps, comprehensive staff training, and ongoing educational support — ensuring programs remain effective long after our initial involvement. To date, we have established programs across five countries.
